Easter Breakfast will be served between services at Mt. Olive on Easter. A free-will offering will be available to support the youth ministries of Mt. Olive and Concordia.
Labor of Love Request
Jesus instructs us to “love our neighbors.” This we sincerely want to do. In the months with FIVE Saturdays on that fifth Saturday (for 2024: March 30th, June 29th, August 31st, and November 30th) Mt. Olive and Concordia Lutheran Churches have members of our congregations available to reach out to our neighbors to provide labors of love. The skill level of our members will vary, but as we are able, we would like to offer our services free of charge to assist you with your labor needs. If you would like assistance, please click here to complete and submit the labor request. If you have a pressing immediate need for assistance, please call the church office: 815-399-3171. CUNE Wind Symphony Concert
On Saturday, April 13 at 7pm, Mt. Olive is proud to host the Concordia Nebraska Wind Symphony in concert. The group is CUNE’s (Concordia University Nebraska) premiere instrumental ensemble. CUNE has strong ties to Mt. Olive with many of our members being Alumni. One of our members, Bella Schmid, is currently playing with the group. On Sunday, April 14, many of the students will be playing for our worship services. As we host, one major need is housing students the evening of April 13. Please let us know if you are able to help in this way. As the event gets closer, we will let you know of other opportunities to assist in addition to housing. Earth Day Event April 20th
Mt. Olive and Concordia would like to invite their Rockford, Machesney Park, and Loves Park neighbors and friends to join them in an afternoon of “Yes, Yes, you’ve got it! Litter Gathering!”
From 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on April 20th, we are going to be picking up litter and seeking to beautify the neighborhoods and parks around our communities. We would love to have you join us.
We will meet at Mt. Olive to pick up gloves, waste debris bags, and directions, and have a sending prayer. We will return to Mt. Olive at 3:00 pm for a brief time for a “Celebration of Song and Prayer,” thanking our GREAT GOD for His creation and His blessings.
*Gloves and debris bags will be provided by Mt. Olive & Concordia.
