Shine!
“You are the light of the world… So let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”
This is a dark time of year. As I’m writing this it’s 5:15 p.m. and pitch dark. It’ll be no lighter 12 hours from now. There is a lot of darkness in our world with terrorists and wars and illicit drugs and corruption and selfishness and people hating one another and hurting one another in so many ways. It’s a dark world.
Let your light shine in the darkness! Show Jesus’ love to someone. I’d like to make a recommendation for a New Year’s resolution. People make resolutions that generally are about self-improvement (lose weight, quite smoking, etc.). Those are fine. But how about shining your light into someone’s life? Make a difference in someone’s life. To whom can you show God’s love? Into which dark life will you shine your light?
Lord, thanks for shining your light into our lives. Continue to enlighten us that we may reflect your light to others. Amen!
