Text Box: God Is So Good!          Of course we all know that God is good. We remind ourselves again and again of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for us, the eternal life he has prepared for us in heaven. God is so good! God is also good in the blessings he gives us here and now. Mt. Olive has been so blessed. The refocus launch was such a joyous celebration of the direction God has graciously given us for our work together as a congregation. Pick up a Strategic Ministry Plan and take a look at the blessings from God. Thanks so much to so many people who worked so hard to bring about the plan, including the 5 strategic initiatives. Another piece of evidence that God is so good will be seen the weekend of September 9th, when Dr. Bill Cullen will be installed as Mt. Olive’s Director of Outreach and Missions. How good God is to us! How we look forward to Bill being among us and leading us to love people to Jesus. We’ll certainly want to make Bill welcome here. It’s been suggested that we have a grocery shower for Bill. Let’s welcome him with a mountain of food, paper products, etc. Be imaginative in thinking of things that would be welcome in furnishing his new home. This will be one way of saying thanks to God for blessing us so abundantly. Another blessing we’ll be receiving that same weekend is that the Harvesters for Christ will begin their ministry among us that weekend. The Harvesters for Christ (now known as “The 72”) is an LCMS ministry to help congregations grow in loving people to Jesus. They’ll be with us for three weeks in September. Look elsewhere in this newsletter for details of the opportunities the Harvesters will bring us. There are so many more blessings, both congregationally, and individually, that they can’t all be listed here. God is so good. Give thanks to him, and praise his name!
