Car Wash Congregation Pledges

As decided at the last parent meeting, we will be splitting up the amount of pledges that we need to get for the car wash.  This year, each youth will be required to get $1 worth of pledges per car and we will be aiming to collect $21 worth of pledges on Sunday mornings by having a table set up in the welcome area after service for several weeks.  Below you will see the signup form to work a shift.  Each youth going on the trip must work at least one shift.  Please note the empty slots when signing up.  Detailed car wash information will come out shortly.

Sr. High Paintball: May 19 8-5:30pm

Join us on May 19 for some paintball!

This year, we will be heading to Promised Land paintball park.  The paintball field is located in Trevor, WI, just on the other side of the border. We will meet at church at 8am to drive to the park (it’s about an hour drive) and return by 5:30pm.  The cost for the whole day is $35, and includes entry into the park, rental, safety equipment, 200 paintballs, and Famous Dave’s BBQ lunch.  If you think you will shoot more than 200 paintballs, bring some extra money to purchase more paint; the pricing is as follows: 100 premium paintballs $6; 500 premium paintballs $25; 1000 premium paintballs $45; 2000 premium paintballs $85.  If you own your own paintball gun, please leave it at home; the field requests that we use their rental guns to help keep the playing field level.  If you would like to come, but are not interested in playing paintball, the cost is FREE and still includes lunch!  This field prides itself on the fact that it is very welcoming to those who have never played paintball before.

There is even a beach at this park for you to relax at and swim.  Plan on bringing your swimsuit (girls, one piece required or wear a tank top) and towel if you would like to swim.

This event is open to 8th graders and older.  Please sign up by May 15 using the form below if you plan on attending or the youth board.  A $25 non-refundable deposit is due when you sign up to hold your spot.  Friends are welcome!  We will need several parents to drive to this event.  Contact David Nelson if interesting in helping.  Also, each participant will need to bring the field’s waiver with them on the 19th.

Food Drive Work Date and Breakfast

Saturday, February 25th  8am-2pm

Did you know that in 2009, there were 43.6 million Americans living in poverty…and 15.5 million of them were children?  Did you know that 48.8 million Americans are food insecure?  Together we can make a difference in the name of Christ.  Please join us for breakfast on Feb. 25 at 8am.  Following breakfast, we will head out into the neighborhood in hopes of collecting at least 500 cans of food.  We will need 30 participants to make this goal a reality.  Come serve in the name of Christ on Sat., Feb 25.

We will need parent help for both the breakfast and for chaperoning the food collection.  Please contact Dave if you can help support this event.

Dave Ramsey’s Generation Change

SIGN UP TODAY!

Generation Change is an entertaining, informative, media-driven youth Bible study-taught by money-management expert Dave Ramsey-that shows today’s students how God views money and how they can grow into financially responsible young adults.

This class is for current high school students and will be spread over three weeks, Jan 15, 22, and 29 from 6-7:30pm.  This is a great class to bring friends to, whether they have a church home or not.  The information we cover is vital to becoming a financially responsible individual.

There are materials for this class.  They are $15 this year and include a workbook, pledge card and t-shirt.  The materials will help your child get the most out of the class.  If you already have materials from last year, you do not need to purchase.

Don’t miss this awesome experience, especially if you are getting ready to head off to college.  Parents are encouraged to attend along with your child.

Sr. High Christmas Party
